Halewood unveils JJ Whitley Violet Gin

Halewood Wines & Spirits-owned gin brand JJ Whitley is celebrating this year’s World Gin Day with the launch of a violet-flavoured expression.

JJ Whitley Violet Gin is made with violet, juniper, liquorice, angelica root and coriander

The latest release has been created with English garden flower violet, alongside a blend of eight botanicals, including juniper, angelica root, coriander and liquorice.

JJ Whitley Violet Gin has “a delicate taste of violet, which is rounded off with a subtle sweetness and soft scents of juniper”.

Adam Georgiou, brand manager for JJ Whitley at Halewood Wines & Spirits, said: “To meet consumer demand following the craze for pink gin, there was a desire to bring a distinctive new violet gin to market in time for the summer months and we of course obliged.

“With a heritage in launching unique flavours, JJ Whitley is positioned perfectly to capitalise on this sought-after expression, which will deliver stand-out on shelf and exciting creations served over the bar.”

The new flavour also boasts a new label design, which is designed to celebrate the distilling heritage of JJ Whitley.

Bottled at 38.6% abv, with an RRP of £18.00 (US$24,00), the new 700ml expression is available in the on-trade at venues operated by Greene King, Marstons, Mitchells & Butlers and Wetherspoons.

Last month, Halewood Wines & Spirits appointed financial advisory group Rothschild to explore “potential sale options”.
