Mixer brand Franklin & Sons has created a new line of flavoured tonics that is “centred on discovery and experimentation”.
The Epicurean Collection is comprised of four tonics that have two flavours: Rosemary & Black Olive; Pink Grapefruit & Bergamot; Rhubarb & Hibiscus; and Elderflower & Cucumber.
The range is said to satisfy a desire from both bartenders and consumers to experiment with flavour, and also tap into current low-abv and cocktail trends.
“Consumers are becoming more experimental on the back of the ever-expanding choice of gin flavours – as well as new brands – [and] we have developed this collection with this in mind, to push boundaries and create a better experience for consumers,” said Calli O’Brien, senior brand manager for Franklin & Sons, which is owned by Global Brands.
The brand recommends that Rosemary & Black Olive is paired with Mediterranean gins, Pink Grapefruit & Bergamot and Elderflower & Cucumber are mixed with London Dry gins, and Rhubarb & Hibiscus is matched with spiced gins.
O’Brien added: “Franklin & Sons’ new Epicurean Collection opens up new flavours not only to pair with gin, but also with a breadth of other spirits, unlocking curiosity within both bartenders and consumers alike.
“Our new Rosemary & Black Olive, for example, pairs beautifully with sweet vermouth and brings to life the taste of summer drinks on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.”
The collection will be officially unveiled at Imbibe Live next week.
Earlier this year, Franklin & Sons created a ready-to-drink gin and tonic in collaboration with Portobello Road Gin.
