Douglas Laing adds Jura 12 Years Old to Coastal range

Independent Scotch bottler Douglas Laing & Co has launched the second expression in its Provenance Coastal Collection – Jura 12 Years Old Single Cask.

The second release in Douglas Laing’s Provenance The Coastal Collection is a 12yo Jura

The limited-edition collection of Provenance single cask Scotch whiskies dedicated to maritime malts comprises four bottlings. The rest of the range will launch later this year.

Jura 12 Years Old Single Cask follows the launch of Bunnahabhain 10 Years Old Single Cask in March this year.

The expression has been matured in a Sherry butt and is limited to 383 bottles globally.

Bottled at 48% abv, the design features moody maritime colours, an illustrated rock oyster and intertwined nautical ropes.

Fred Laing, chairman of Douglas Laing & Co, said: “For this very limited Provenance Collection, we have specially selected only four single casks which we believe truly bring to life their maritime heritage.

“This latest Jura release is a beautiful balance of dark fruits and rich spices from its Sherry butt maturation, alongside that archetypal Jura vanilla, honey and barley character.”

The Coastal Collection Jura 12 Years Old follows the launch of other single casks this quarter, including an XOP Cameronbridge 40 Years Single Grain, and a “heavily sherried” Glenrothes 12 Years Old in Old Particular.

Last month, Douglas Laing appointed Chris Leggat to the position of CEO, as company owner Fred Laing moves into the role of chairman.
