Balcones unveils more anniversary special editions
Balcones is continuing its 10th anniversary celebrations with the release of two single malts that are “unlike any” the Texas distillery has released before.
Balcones celebrates its 10th anniversary this year
This month, the distillery will launch its Peated Single Malt Whisky, made using peated malt from Scotland. Bottled at 63% abv, the expression is said to have notes of smoky tea, earth, caramel, incense, burnt cedar and allspice.
The new Mirador Single Malt Whisky, made of liquid that has been aged for between two and five years in used casks, will also launch this month.
The peated release will be available from the distillery only, while Mirador will be available from the distillery and throughout Texas.
Balcones kicked off its 10th anniversary line of special releases with the launch of a cask-strength rye whiskey in January.
Jared Himstedt, head distiller for Balcones, recently spoke to The Spirits Business about how the wider whiskey industry has changed since the brand launched a decade ago.
