Drinks agency Speciality Brands has appointed former Swift head bartender Nathan Shearer as its new whisky ambassador.

Nathan Shearer joins Speciality Brands as whisky ambassador

Shearer, who has also worked at London bar Callooh Callay, will work alongside existing whisky ambassador Stef Holt representing the firm’s portfolio, which includes Nikka, Kavalan, Amrut, Box, Michter’s, Port Askaig and Elements of Islay.

The pair will work with both on- and off-trade businesses offering training programmes, building partnerships and driving brand opportunities.

Chris Seale, Speciality Brands managing director, said: “Nathan’s on-trade experience is exceptional and for an ambassador role such as this, that is absolutely crucial.

“As a knowledgeable and professional ambassador we are confident that Nathan will help Stef grow the presence of our premium portfolio across the country and share this un-bounding enthusiasm for quality whiskies.”

Shearer said it was “so exciting” to be joining Speciality Brands as a whisky ambassador.

“I can’t wait to start training the on-trade on quality spirits and spread our love for our brands,” he said. “I’m quite sure the job will bring new challenges but I’m looking forward to the personal growth that it also brings and working with a tight knit team of consummate professionals.”
