Southern Glazer’s creates chief transformation officer role
By Melita KielySouthern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has appointed John Wittig to the newly created position of chief transformation officer.

Wittig, who currently holds the position of president, east region, will step into the new role from 1 July.
He will be tasked with identifying and executing profitable growth within the company’s existing business units and “yet-untapped” markets and product segments.
He will report to Wayne Chaplin, Southern Glazer’s CEO, and Brad Vassar, COO.
“John is a trusted and respected leader and highly effective team builder,”said Chaplin. “In addition to his in-depth experience, these leadership qualities make him the ideal person to drive transformational change that will best position Southern Glazer’s for the future.”
Wittig will be succeeded by Gene Sullivan, who currently works as executive vice president and general manager of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits of Florida.
Sullivan will be responsible for overseeing the business’ operations in eight Eastern US markets and the US Virgin Islands. His replacement will be announced in early June.
