Porter’s Gin signs US distribution deal

Scottish brand Porter’s Gin has signed a distribution deal with Drinks EMD as it prepares to make its debut in the States.

Porter’s Gin has signed a deal with Drinks EMD to distribute its products in America

Porter’s Gin was founded in 2012 by Ben Iravani, Josh Rennie and Alex Lawrence when the trio decided to turn the basement of their bar in Aberdeen, Scotland, into a microdistillery.

The brand’s signature gin uses traditional pot stills as well as “cold distillation” techniques to produce a “light, refined, citrus-forward, dry gin that brings together the best of classic and contemporary distilling”.

Martin Peters, founder of Drinks EMD, said: “Knowing how crowded the gin category is in the US, especially for brands from the UK, it was super important to find a partner that set themselves apart.

“Ben and the team at Porter’s have dedicated years to perfecting the flavour and profile of their gin. We are excited to introduce it to US bartenders and consumers.”

Last year, the Aberdeen-based gin brand appointed Dandelyan bartender Jack Wareing as its first brand ambassador.
