Justerini & Brooks to distribute J&B Rare in GB

Justerini & Brooks, makers of J&B Rare whisky, have brought distribution of the blended Scotch brand back in house following a 21-year break.

Justerini & Brooks created J&B Rare in the early 1930s

Wine and spirits merchant Justerini & Brooks created J&B Rare in the early 1930s, but relinquished distribution of the brand in 1998. The brand was previously distributed by Diageo through a third party.

The whisky is a blend of single malt and grain whiskies from the Speyside region, including liquid from Knockando, Auchroisk, Strathmill and Glen Spey.

Chadwick Delaney, managing director of Justerini & Brooks, said: “J&B Rare sits at the heart of Justerini & Brooks. A whisky we created in the 1930s and then built up over the ensuing decades is returning home after a 21-year gap.

“We are all excited to be bringing this iconic brand to a new generation of customers who can experience a piece of our history.”

J&B Rare sold 3.5 million nine-litre cases in 2016, according to our Brand Champions 2017 report.
