Gautier celebrates award wins

Gautier Cognac has extended its trophy cabinet with a flurry of new tasting awards.

MBWS’s Gautier Cognac has received multiple accolades

The brand, owned by Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits, secured a number of awards at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Gautier Extra 1755 received a double gold – awarded to products that receive all gold ratings from the judging panel – and the titles ‘Best Cognac’ and ‘Best Brandy’.

Gautier VSOP received double gold and was named ‘Best VSOP’. Double golds also followed for Gautier Pinar Del Rio and Gautier Tradition Rare. Gautier XO and Gautier VS, meanwhile, bagged silver medals.

Maison Gautier VS Cognac and Maison Gautier VSOP Cognac also performed well at the 2018 Ultimate Spirits Challenge Awards, where each were given a score of 94 out of 100.

Kevin Baker, global travel retail director of Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits, said: “It is an absolute honour for Gautier to be recognised as the ‘Best Cognac’ yet again.

“It really is a testament to the hard work of our small team in Aigre, who, year in, year out, demonstrate their craft by making cognac of the very highest quality.

“This continued recognition of the excellence of Gautier Cognac, has helped fuel a real surge in popularity in recent years, and particularly since its packaging relaunch in 2016.”
