Crown Royal unveils mesquite-smoked whisky
Diageo-owned Canadian whisky brand Crown Royal has launched a “smoky and spicy” expression, which has been infused with Texas mesquite wood.

Crown Royal Texas Mesquite is described as a blend of “two iconic Texas traditions” – barbecue and whisky.
The limited edition expression combines the smoky flavour of locally sourced Texas mesquite wood and the “smoothness” of Crown Royal blended whisky.
The expression is targeted at occasions such as summertime grilling, barbecues and celebrations and is recommended served neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail.
“Texas continues to be a special place for Crown Royal, so it was fitting to create a variant that harnesses the loyalty of all those fans,” said Nicola Heckles, brand director of Crown Royal.
“With Crown Royal Texas Mesquite, we welcome another unique innovation into the thriving Canadian whisky category, which furthers our commitment to diversifying our portfolio and offering a range of products to suit a variety of tastes.”
Bottled at 40% abv, Crown Royal Texas Mesquite is currently available in Texas and other select US states including California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Nevada and Tennessee.
