US Durham Distillery to double production capacity

US-based gin producer Durham Distillery is planning to double its capacity as it prepares to launch in Europe.

Durham Distillery will expand into the adjacent site, adding 2,369 square feet to the site

The distillery will add 2,369 square feet of space by expanding into the adjacent property, where it will instal new equipment and production facilities.

The new space at 715 Washington Street will allow the distillery to double its capacity with the addition of a second still and an automated bottling line.

Expanding the site will also provide Durham Distillery with additional storage for raw materials and finished products, including Bourbon barrels for the distillery’s Conniption Barrel Rested gin and the 700ml-sized bottles it requires to launch in Europe.

Melissa Katrincic, president and CEO of Durham Distillery, said: “We’re fortunate that the distillery can expand while staying in our original spot in downtown Durham.

“Durham Distillery will be able to continue to grow its offering and gain product distribution across the United States and in the export market of Europe and the United Kingdom with this expansion.”

The distillery currently produces a cucumber-infused vodka, its Conniption gin expressions and its Damn Fine range of liqueurs.
