Brockmans Gin is celebrating a “record” 2017 after total revenue for the British brand increased by 51%, bolstered by the company’s international expansion.

British brand Brockmans Gin is celebrating “record” 2017 results

Total revenue grew to £8.2 million (US$11.6m) as the business “significantly increased” its presence in major retailers and overseas, entering Poland, Panama and the Philippines for the first time.

Sales volumes increased to over 62,000 nine-litre cases – the equivalent of 22 million gin and tonics.

In the UK, sales soared by 145%, bolstered by “increased demand” from the on-trade including Greene King, The Hilton and The Peach Pub Company.

The brand has gained listings in all 28 branches of Booths and expanded to 147 branches of Marks & Spencer in 2017. The company has also signed a deal with UK supermarket chain Asda to be in 400 stores from April.

In the US, Brockmans is now available in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, and is currently in five other states including New York and Massachusetts.

In Germany, one of the brand’s fastest-growing markets, sales of Brockmans increased by 108%.

Neil Everitt, Brockmans co-founder and chief executive, said: “It’s great to be toasting such strong numbers as we look forward to celebrating our 10th anniversary later this year.

“The UK’s love affair with gin shows no sign of waning and Brockmans clearly won the hearts of many new drinkers, helping us significantly outperform the market.

“We continue to spread our wings into new markets and will be on sale in 40 territories by the end of this year, but it is the recent decision to move into the multiple grocers that will provide the springboard to our next milestone, selling 100,000 cases a year.”

In 2016, Brockmans’ total revenues soared 87% to £5.4m (US$7m), with revenues up 245% in the UK.
