As part of the changes, Vinay Golikeri has been promoted to the role of senior commercial director for Bacardi Global Travel Retail (GTR).

In this position, he will lead the travel retail commercial team, develop customer strategies and build the profile of brands in the company’s portfolio.

Golikeri will report to managing director and vice president of GTR and commercial development Mike Birch, who has taken on extra responsibilities as part of the reshuffle.

Birch retains overall responsibility for Bacardi GTR while taking on a number of duties across the wider Bacardi group, including global e-commerce and global hotel and resort chains.

The wider reshuffle has also seen David Hughes promoted to director of Europe and global advocacy, Gaurav Joshi has been named director of GTR in Asia Pacific, Geoff Biggs has become regional director for the Americas, Sandeep Chugh has been promoted to regional manager in the Middle East and Africa, and Thomas Koch was named director of international key accounts.

Maurice Doyle, president of incubation brands and global commercial development at Bacardi, said: “Global travel retail is an important and dynamic market for our brands and offers tremendous potential for us to build our premium brands and deliver commercial results, particularly with emerging market travellers.

“The travel channel has seen considerable retail consolidation and this new structure enhances our agility to get closer to our customers and develop opportunities for mutual benefit. ”

Earlier this year, the family-owned drinks company also made a number of changes to its regional management teams.
