Jack Daniel’s and Super Lyan to go on tour

Jack Daniel’s has partnered with award-winning bartender Ryan Chetiyawardana to launch a new bartender mentoring programme in the UK, called the Tennessee Nitro Tours.

Jack Daniel’s is set to tour the UK on a bartender mentoring programme in partnership with Ryan Chetiyawardana

The initiative will see Chetiyawardana and his team from Super Lyan travel to six venues across the UK, educating bartenders on the processes behind creating the Tennessee Nitro Martini, a twist on the classic Jack Daniel’s and cola, described as an “innovative and sustainable cocktail”.

The tour will start on 20 March at Peggy’s Bar in Manchester, the workplace of Shane Killgaraff, one of the top 10 finalists in the Tennessee Calling II cocktail competition.

Nidal Ramini, head of advocacy for Northern Europe, said: “At Jack Daniel’s we are dedicated to supporting bartenders as they develop their careers.

“The Jack and Cola is a classic cocktail and the Tennessee Nitro Martini is a new way for bartenders to serve up this premium whiskey as part of a high-quality cocktail.”

Other venues will include Bramble, in Edinburgh, on 12 April; Hedonist Project, Leeds, on 3 May; Filter & Fox, Liverpool, on 7 June; Callooh Callay, London, on 2 July; and Belfast at a venue and date to be confirmed.

Chetiyawardana said: “We were very excited to create the Tennessee Nitro Martini and it’s the first collaboration of its kind, which we originally launched at White Lyan, before taking it to Super Lyan.

“Using the golden sweetness of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, we balanced this with our spicy cola and Sandows cold-brewed coffee.

“Pulling this through a nitrous system produces a silkier texture and gives the ideal dilution, balance and flavour, with a creamy texture.”
