Isle of Barra Distillers agrees distribution in Denmark

Scottish spirits producer Isle of Barra Distillers has secured the first overseas listing for its gin, which is now available to purchase in Denmark.

Barra Atlantic Gin is now also available in Denmark

Hailing from the Outer Hebridean island, Isle of Barra Distillers was established in 2016 by husband and wife team Michael and Kate Morrison.

The company partnered with an unnamed London distillery to create the first batch of Barra Atlantic Gin, which launched in the UK in August last year.

The gin is made with locally harvested carrageen – a species of red algae native to the Atlantic Ocean.

Bottled at 46% abv, Barra Atlantic Gin is said to have a floral and herbal nose, which leads to juniper, citrus and “dulcet carrageen” on the palate. It has an RRP of £37 per 700ml (US$52/ DKK315).
