Hakkasan debuts non-alcoholic drinks menu

Hakkasan Group has launched a non-alcoholic drinks menu across its London restaurants to tap into the consumer demand for “premium” alternatives to alcohol.

Hakkasan’s new non-alcoholic drinks menu features nine categories that “explore and push the boundaries”

Two years in the making, The Orchard List offers an “innovative” alcohol-free offering including a new drinks category, called Mai-Shin.

Hakkasan Group’s head of wine, Christine Parkinson, worked closely with head of bar, Eder Neto, and chef, drinks researcher and developer James Morgan to source and develop the products from around the world, with several made or imported exclusively for Hakkasan Group.

“The Orchard List project has been an opportunity to breakdown the notion that premium is only tied to alcoholic drinks. This should be extended to other drink options for guests to enjoy while dining,” said Parkinson.

The 29-strong drinks list features drinks made with “complexity, quality, character and body usually associated with premium spirits and craft cocktails”.

Inspired by “ancient” recipes and traditions, the list contains distinctive Asian ingredients, while also championing British producers.

The Orchard List features nine drink categories that “explore and push the boundaries” with varying flavour profiles.

Inspired by the fine teas at Hakkasan’s Michelin-starred dim sum tea house Yauatcha, the Orchard List will include tea-based drinks including honey jun, a kombucha tea cultured with honey, and cold brew teas.

Mai-Shin, a rice and Japanese tea infusion, is a new drinks category developed by Hakkasan Group, and is inspired by the brewing process of sake.

The new menu is available at the group’s London venues Hakkasan Hanway Place, Hakkasan Mayfair, Yauatcha Soho, Yauatcha City and Sake no Hana in St James’s.

Hakkasan plan to launch The Orchard List across Hakkasan Group’s international restaurants later this year.
