Drunk shopping costs Brits £4.46 billion annually

Brits spend an estimated £4.46bn on drunk shopping annuallyAccording to a study commissioned by price comparison site Finder UK, nearly half of the British adult population (45.8%) who regularly drink alcohol have bought something after a few alcoholic beverages.
That means more than 15 million Brits have made a drunken purchase in the past, spending an average of £291.07 each per year.
According to the study of 2,000 adult Britons, men are more likely to partake in drunk shopping than women, racking up an average spend of £364.72 compared to £213.41 for their female counterparts.
However, millennials are thought to be the “most reckless” generation when it comes to drunk shopping, with nearly three in five drinkers (59.29%) admitting to shopping after drinking alcohol.
Generation X drinkers spend the most while drunk shopping, spending an average of £374.45 compared to just £182.39 for millennials.
