Douglas Laing unveils limited-edition Coastal Collection
Douglas Laing has bottled a new limited-edition collection of Provenance single cask Scotch whiskies dedicated to maritime malts, called The Coastal Collection.
The first release in Douglas Laing’s Provenance The Coastal Collection is a 10yo Bunnahabhain
Comprising four single malt expressions, the first whisky is available from today (14 March) – Bunnahabhain 10 Years Old Single Cask.
Matured in a refill hogshead and bottled at 48% abv, only 383 bottles of the Bunnahabhain bottling will be made available from specialist Scotch whisky retailers globally for an RRP of £55 (US$76). The rest of the range will be launched later this year.
Cara Laing, director of whisky at Douglas Laing & Co, said: “The first release, distilled at Islay’s Bunnahabhain Distillery, displays a salty, smoky and spicy character – the epitome of what we believe a maritime malt should be.”
Douglas Laing has also released numerous other Provenance single casks bottlings since the start of 2018, including a 10-year-old Glengoyne, said to be “packed with springtime charm”; a six-year-old Caol Ila, described as having notes of “seaweed, peaches, peppery spice and peat”; and a 10-year-old Balmenach, said to have a “wonderfully mocha” style.
In January, Douglas Laing released a 10-year-old blended malt as part of its Timorous Beastie range.
