Distillers’ Charity Auction reveals rare whisky list

The Worshipful Company of Distillers has announced the list of 70 rare and collectable whiskies that will go under the hammer at its charity auction next month.

A bottle of The Dalmore 1976 is among the list of rare whiskies that will go under the hammer next month

The Distillers’ Charity Auction will be held at Mercers’ Hall in London on Tuesday 10 April.

It will be hosted by master of the Worshipful Company of Distillers, Bryan Burrough, with a reception attended by Charles Bowman, the Lord Mayor of London.

Ranging from £250 to £25,000, the whiskies have been donated directly from the producers and include one-of-a-kind expressions and special bottlings.

All proceeds will be donated to the Distillers’ Charity, which supports industry training and education; the Alcohol Education Trust; and the Lord Mayor’s Appeal towards the OnSide Youth Zones initiative.

A highlight of the auction will be The Dalmore 1976 Highland Single Malt Whisky 41 Years Old, matured in a Graham’s Port Colheita 1963 pipe.

In addition, William Grant & Sons’ Glenfiddich 50 Years Old, The Balvenie 50 Year Old Cask 191, one of the oldest Balvenies ever released, will go under the hammer.

Also among the list are Gordon & MacPhail’s The Archive Collection, Compass Box’s The Hedonism Collection, and three 21-year-old expressions from Kirin Brewery Company’s Fuji-Gotemba Distillery.

“As a Livery company, charity is at the heart of what we do, and as distillers we are proud to be leading our fundraising with the Distillers’ Charity Auction,” said Burrough.

“An incredible collection of whiskies has been donated, which we are sure will generate a great deal of interest and excitement from collectors around the world.”

Tickets to attend the black tie event are available for £100 at www.distillers.auction.
