Copper & Kings names master distiller
Kentucky-based brandy maker Copper & Kings has promoted head distiller Brandon O’Daniel to the role of master distiller.
Brandon O’Daniel is now master distiller for Copper & Kings
O’Daniel, who joined the Copper & Kings American Brandy Co in 2014, is from a family of wine and spirits producers dating back four generations.
He is an award-winning winemaker and viticulturist, making him “singularly qualified to distil superb American style brandy in Louisville”, according to Copper & Kings.
Copper & Kings founder Joe Heron said: “Brandon has mastered his craft. This is not an empty honorific, but reflects the skills and leadership of someone who is amongst the finest distillers of brandy in the world, and we can’t discount his excellent palate, his leadership of a full production team through example and education.”
Brandon will also lead Copper & Kings’ programme of gin, absinthe and liqueurs production.
Last summer, the distillery extended its line with the launch of three brandy-based gins. In January this year, Copper & Kings sold a minority stake of its business to US drinks giant Constellation Brands.
