Belvedere unveils ginger-flavoured vodka
Premium vodka brand Belvedere has expanded its portfolio with the launch of a new flavoured expression, called Ginger Zest.
Belvedere Ginger Zest is flavoured with ginger, lemon and grapefruit
The new expression is created by extracting fragrant oils from ginger, lemon and grapefruit that have been immersed in Belvedere Vodka.
The resulting spirit, due to be released in April, is smooth with “notes of ginger spice and balanced with zesty citrus”.
Matt Pomeroy, global director of education at Belvedere Vodka, said: “In developing a new maceration, we wanted to capitalise on cocktail trends and flavours that offered range and versatility.
“In Polish history, there are roots in warming vodka with spices. Blending an exotic spice, like ginger, with the approachable flavours of grapefruit and lemon makes for a refreshing, beautifully-balanced drinking experience.”
On the nose, Belvedere Ginger Zest is “aromatic and warming” with notes of “sweet spice, ginger and gingerbread”. The palate has “a velvety texture and refreshing citrus lift”, while its finish has “a persistent sweet spice warmth and soft cream and vanilla back palate”.
Rodney Williams, president and CEO of Belvedere Vodka, said: “We recognised a distinctive opportunity to get ahead of the ginger trend with Belvedere Ginger Zest.
“Despite the rapidly growing trend in ginger-flavoured beverages, there are very few ginger-flavoured vodkas in the marketplace so we set out to make one that has exceeded our expectations.”
Bottled at 40% abv, Belvedere Ginger Zest will launch in the US in 750ml, 1L and 1.5L bottles, priced at US$29.99, US$38.99 and US$49.99 respectively.
The Polish vodka brand previously announced it had teamed up with musician and actress Janelle Monáe on a two-year partnership that aims to inspire the next generation of creators.
