Valentine Distilling Co completes $1m expansion
Detroit-based Valentine Distilling Co is celebrating 10 years in the whiskey business with the completion of a US$1 million distillery expansion.
Valentine Distilling Co has invested $1m in expanding its production capacity
Founded by Rifino Valentine, the distillery said the expansion is necessary to “fulfil customer demand”.
The funds have been used to introduce a new custom-made, 1,500-gallon still, which will be imported from Italian distillation company Frilli and named Sherbert after the distillery’s dog.
The new still will give the firm the ability to produce 1,000 barrels of whiskey every year.
Furthermore, the distillery has increased its warehouse space to include an extra 5,000 square feet for a rick house.
Valentine said: “Frilli has been building distillation equipment since 1912 and has a phenomenal track record and experience in triple pot distillation, and that’s just what we need to keep up with the demand of Valentine spirits.”
Valentine Distilling Co is planning a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 22 March to reveal the completed expansion work and registration for complimentary tickets is now available on Eventbrite.
