Surrey distillery lets gin fans make their own spirits

Surrey-based Elstead Village Distillers is offering gin fans the chance to make their own spirits at its Thundry Farm site.

The Surrey-based distillery will allow drinks fans to make their own spirit at its site

The distillery, based in Godalming, will allow drinks enthusiasts to make their own spirits using its equipment.

Founded by friends Paul Shubrook and Neil Redit, Elstead Village Distillers is hoping to welcome businesses and drinks fans into the distillery to mark a special occasion by producing their own gin.

The distiller also launched two expressions under its new Thundry Hills gin label, called Original and Sanctuary,

Original gin has notes of “smooth caraway and sweet orange botanicals,” while Sanctuary is described as “spicier, with a higher amount of juniper and coriander and a little black pepper”.

After the initial run of spirits sold out at a launch event held at the distillery, Shubrook and Redit are preparing their next distillate and hope to host more events at the site in the coming months.

As more and more and more artisan producers turn to gin in the last few years, SB‘s Melita Kiely asks if we should stop waiting for the gin bubble to burst.
