Mumbai Duty Free to sell Glenfiddich 50 Year Old

Mumbai Duty Free has listed one of just 50 bottles of Glenfiddich 50 Year Old, released in 2017, for sale.

Glenfiddich 50 Year Old was first released in 2009 with 50 bottles released each year

The 50-year-old expression was first released by William Grant & Sons in 2009, since then just 50 bottles have been made available for release each year.

One of the final 50 bottles of the expression, this bottling was unveiled last year marking Glenfiddich’s 125th year.

The Glenfiddich 50 Year Old features a sterling silver bottle collar, designed by sixth generation silversmiths Thomas Fattorini, and a hand blown decanter, set in a hand-stitched, leather-bound case.

Manishi Sanwal, CEO of Mumbai Duty Free, said: “It’s an honour to be one of the few chosen airport retailers to list Glenfiddich 50 Year Old, reflecting our ongoing commitment to deliver a unique offer to our customers while driving the ultra-premium spirits category.

“Our customers will be thrilled about this availability. We’re delighted to be partnering with William Grant & Sons to bring this incredible whisky to the store.”

The whisky’s presentation case also features a leather-bound book, detailing the whisky’s rich history.

William Grant & Sons business development manager, Hardeep Sethi, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be offering Mumbai Duty Free customers the opportunity to purchase this incredible and unique whisky.

“Glenfiddich 50 Year Old is a true expression of our heritage and the ultimate symbol of exclusivity. It epitomises the craftsmanship and credentials of the entire Glenfiddich portfolio, and we’re proud to be bringing this rare and precious whisky to India.”

The Scotch whisky maker recently extended its Experimental Series with the launch of a single malt whisky finished in Canadian icewine casks.
