Jameson unveils 2018 St Patrick’s Day bottle design
Irish Distillers has unveiled its seventh annual limited-edition bottle design for Jameson Irish whiskey in celebration of St Patrick’s Day.
A trio of creative minds have collaborated to create the 2018 Jameson Paddy’s Day bottle design
Jameson partnered with a group of artists for this year’s design, including Irish illustrator Claudine O’Sullivan, British designer Alex Mellon and Irish photographer Leonn Ward.
The design is inspired by the Fianna – Irish mythological warriors known for valuing loyalty and bravery.
O’Sullivan’s hand-drawn eagle represents the unity of three friends on a night out, whose silhouettes feature on the bottle. The silhouettes were taken from a photo shot against Dublin’s Ha’penny Bridge by Ward.
The friends are surrounded by banners and symbols that represent Irish tribes, drawn by Mellon.
The limited-edition Jameson bottle comes with an NFC chip that allows consumers to access content on jamesonwhiskey.com. It will be available to purchase in 35 countries globally, including Ireland, Japan and Australia from February at the regular price of £20 (US$28) per bottle.
Simon Fay, international marketing director at Irish Distillers, said: “Dublin has long been a city of artists, adventurers and friends, so for Jameson’s 2018 limited edition bottle we collaborated with three artists with different creative backgrounds to celebrate true friendship.”
