Glenallachie to launch single malts range in June

The Glenallachie Distillers Company has signed distribution deals with 12 countries as it prepares to launch its core range of single malt Scotch whiskies in June.

Glenallachie has appointed a sales and marketing team. L-R: David Keir, Colette Savage and Ally Stevenson

Glenallachie’s core range of aged whiskies will include a 10-year-old, 12-year-old, 18-year-old and 25-year-old – all set to launch in June this year.

Belgium-based Premium Spirits will be the first to stock the Glenallachie single malts range. Other markets where distribution has already been agreed include China, the Netherlands, Taiwan and France.

Furthermore, the Speyside distillery has appointed a sales and marketing team, including David Keir, sales and marketing director; Colette Savage, marketing manager; Ally Stevenson, sales manager; and Lorraine Walker, administration manager.

“The Glenallachie has always been a bit of a hidden gem as the previous owners focused on their other distilleries,” said Keir. “These first orders from 12 countries prove that there’s demand out there for the high quality single malt that has been produced at the distillery over the years.

“We’re hopeful to have confirmed distribution in over 30 countries, including the US, by the time we launch in June.

“As well as selling the existing stock of single malt that was bought along with the distillery, we’ll also be involved in developing the blended Scotch brands MacNair’s and White Heather.”

Pernod Ricard sold the Glenallachie Distillery for an undisclosed amount last year to a consortium of investors led by Billy Walker, former managing director of the BenRiach Distillery Company – a sale that included the MacNair’s and White Heather Scotch whisky brands.

The consortium also comprised Trisha Savage, former general manager at BenRiach, and Graham Stevenson, ex-managing director at Inver House Distillers.

Last month, Glenallachie appointed Richard Beattie as its new operations director.
