Glen Scotia launches new traveling immersive experience

Scotch whisky distillery Glen Scotia is aiming to transport whisky fans to its Campbeltown distillery with the launch of a new immersive experience, called Glen Scotia Grand Tour.

The Glen Scotia Grand Tour will travel the world, transporting whisky fans to the Campbeltown distillery

Launching in London next month, the Loch Lomond Group-owned distillery will transport whisky fans to Campbeltown as its Glen Scotia Grand Tour experience replicates a visit to the Mull of Kintyre-based whisky producer.

The experience will fully immerse attendees in the Campbeltown environment, reproducing the sights of the Glen Scotia distillery and its surrounding area.

Beginning in the Victorian-themed distillery manager’s office, the 60-minute experience will treat guests to whisky-based cocktails, and canapés inspired by local producers. Whisky fans will then be transported through Glen Scotia’s dunnage warehouse, tasting a variety of expressions from the independent distiller.

Iain McAlister, distillery manager at Glen Scotia, said: “We are the first to admit that Campbeltown isn’t the easiest to get to, but when whisky fans visit Glen Scotia they are deeply impressed by our whiskies and the unique character of the region.

“Our Glen Scotia Grand Tour will allow whisky lovers to share that sense of discovery and experience the lure of Campbeltown for themselves.”

Glen Scotia, one of just three distilleries in the Campbeltown area, has transported original whisky barrels from the distillery for guests to sample a dram straight from the cask.

Scott Dickson, marketing manager at Loch Lomond Group said: “Glen Scotia had been quietly producing exceptional single malts for more than 150 years and the Grand Tour is part of our ongoing strategy to put this special Campbeltown single malt whisky firmly on the map.”

The Campbeltown distillery, which dates back to 1832, recently launched two of its travel retail exclusive Scotch whiskies across UK airports.
