Bacardi reshuffles regional teams
Bacardi has made numerous changes to its regional teams, including the appointment of Vijay Subramaniam as managing director – Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa (AMEA).

Taking up the post with immediate effect, Subramaniam succeeds Alejandro Ouziel, who is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.
Subramaniam joined Bacardi in 2013 when he worked as managing director of India before expanding his position to lead the Middle East.
He has 12 years’ experience working in numerous general managerial roles within AMEA markets.
Subramaniam will report to Mahesh Madhavan, who was appointed Bacardi CEO in October last year after former CEO Mike Dolan announced his retirement in March 2017.
Madhavan said: “As we continue to expand Bacardi’s portfolio of premium brands in these vast and fast-growing markets, Vijay’s keen understanding of the opportunities and complexities unique to this region, and his ability to brilliantly adapt global brands to make them locally relevant, will be vital to our continued global growth.”
Subramaniam described the AMEA region as a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity for the family-owned drinks group, which last month unveiled plans to acquire Patron Spirits International.
He said: “Our team’s mission is to continue to build awareness and esteem for our iconic brands with new consumers throughout the diverse and dynamic markets within our region.”
In other news, Sanjit Randhawa has been promoted to managing director of India and Southeast Asia. Randhawa boasts more than a decade working with Bacardi in various roles including financial director of India operations, managing director for the Philippines and, most recently, managing director for Southeast Asia.
Vikas Mittal has been appointed as managing director of the Middle East and North Africa, while François Portier will move into the role of managing director of South, East and West Africa.
Mittal previously managed West and North Africa, and Portier was in charge of South and East Africa.
