Old Curiosity Distillery creates colour-changing gins
Edinburgh-based distillery The Old Curiosity is set to release a trio of floral-inspired, colour-changing gins next month.
Each gin changes colour when mixed
The range comprises three flavours, including Apothecary Rose, Lavender and Echinacea, and Chamomile and Cornflower.
When mixed with tonic water, Apothecary Rose changes from pale gold to pink; Lavender and Echinacea transforms from purple to a vibrant pink; and Chamomile and Cornflower moves from blue to pale pink.
Each expression is bottled at 39% abv and will be available from Harvey Nichols stores throughout the UK from 1 February, with an RRP of £42 per 500ml bottle.
The Old Curiosity Distillery is the most recent project from Hamish Martin, a Scottish herbologist and owner of the Secret Herb Garden – a 7.5-acre plot of land on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Each gin is made using botanicals grown, picked, dried and infused by the Secret Herb Garden team.
