Liverpool’s Rose Petal Gin makes Valentine’s Day return

UK-based spirits maker the Liverpool Collection is bringing back a limited-edition rose petal-flavoured gin especially for Valentine’s Day.

Rose Petal Gin has “notes of sweet liquorice, warming cassia and piney juniper”

The brand, owned by Halewood Wines & Spirits, first released the seasonal expression in 2016.

Leanne Ware, senior marketing manager for the Liverpool Collection, said: “With distinctive, romantic tones, this gin will work perfectly with the indulgent intentions and flavours of the season, as well as make for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for those seeking something unique for their loved ones.”

The rose petal variant has been reintroduced this year due to increasing consumer demand for flavoured gins and the on-trade’s growing cocktail culture.

The new expression combines rose petal aromas with a citrus sharpness, and has been described as having “a soft mouthfeel”.

On the palate, the gin has notes of sweet liquorice, cassia and juniper, leading to a long rose finish on the palate.

Bottled at 43% abv and priced at an RRP of £45 (US$63.50), the limited-edition expression is now available at Harvey Nichols’ Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester stores, as well as through the company website.

Halewood International purchased the Liverpool Gin brand for an undisclosed sum in 2016.
