Glen Moray unveils Classic Sherry Cask Finish

Single malt Scotch distillery Glen Moray has extended its Classic Range with the launch of a Sherry cask-finished expression.

Glen Moray Sherry Cask has been aged in ex-Bourbon barrels and finished in Sherry casks

Glen Moray Classic Sherry Cask Finish has been aged in North American ex-Bourbon barrels for six to seven years and then finished in oloroso Sherry casks for nine to 12 months.

It is described as having aromas of “dried fruit, cinnamon, and toffee, and rich flavours of sweet vanilla, dark chocolate and oriental spice”.

“The Glen Moray Classic Sherry Cask Finish is an unusual malt that seamlessly marries the profound oloroso flavors of southern Spain with Glen Moray’s legendary Speyside smoothness,” said Glen Moray’s master distiller Graham Coull.

“The unique maturing process allows the sweet American oak flavours to mix with the intense oloroso Sherry flavors, producing a whisky that tastes of vanilla oak, dark chocolate and oriental spice, with a wonderful depth of character.”

The expression is ideal for sipping on its own or in cocktails.

The Glen Moray Classic Sherry Cask Finish has an RRP of US$29.99 and will be available in stores nationwide.
