Casamigos Tequila ambassador to wed Princess Eugenie

Princess Eugenie is to marry Jack Brooksbank, the UK brand ambassador for Casamigos Tequila, Buckingham Palace has announced.

Casamigos UK brand ambassador Jack Brooksbank is to marry Princess Eugenie this autumn

In a statement released yesterday (22 January), the palace said: “The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Eugenie to Mr Jack Brooksbank.”

The couple, who have been dating for several years, became engaged earlier this month while on holiday in Nicaragua.

Brooksbank, who joined the ultra-premium Tequila brand in 2015, was previously general manager of Mayfair tiki nightclub Mahiki, a favoured hotspot for celebrities including Prince Harry and One Direction.

In his current role, he represents Casamigos at top-tier venues across the UK, educating consumers on the history behind the brand.

His eight years of experience in the on-trade includes roles at Brompton Brands venues The Punchbowl, The Markham Inn, The Rose Club, Mahiki, Whiskey Mist and The Brompton Club.

He also helped to launch Mexican-themed club Tonteria in Chelsea, where he initiated a series of strategic partnerships between Casamigos and Tonteria.

Casamigos Tequila, which was founded by George Clooney and Rande Gerber in 2013, was sold to Diageo last year in a deal worth up to US$1 billion.

The princess, who is eighth in line of succession to the British throne, will marry Brooksbank this autumn at George’s Chapel in Windsor.

Further details of the wedding are to be announced in due course.

The royal wedding will be the second to take place at the chapel this year, following the announcement that Prince Harry and US actor Meghan Markle will marry there in May.

Earlier this month, the UK Government launched a four-week public consultation seeking views on whether it should allow pubs, clubs and bars across England and Wales to stay open later on the weekend of the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
