Bloomsbury Distillery appoints UK distributor
London-based Bloomsbury Distillery has appointed Highball Brands as the exclusive UK distributor of its entire spirits portfolio.
Bloomsbury Distillery is the first distillery to open in Bloomsbury for over 70 years
Founded in 2016 by Fabrice Limon and Barrie Wilson, Highball Brands will be responsible for distributing Bloomsbury Peated Vodka, Bloomsbury Pastis and Bloomsbury Amer.
Limon, co-founder of Highball Brands, said: “Bloomsbury Distillery, with its range of truly unique spirits, is a great addition to our portfolio which focuses on bringing the most exciting brands to the on-trade.”
Bloomsbury Distillery is the first distillery in Bloomsbury for almost three-quarters of a century and was launched by sculptor and architect Alan McQuillan and Ben Harriman in 2016.
McQuillan said: “We are extremely happy to announce that we are working with Highball Brands, their expertise, experience and passion make them the perfect partner as we broaden our reach and profile within the on-trade.”
Bloomsbury’s peated vodka expression gets its smoky flavour from malted barley that has been dried using peat, while Bloomsbury Pastis uses cucumber, orange peel and Sussex hops to put a twist on the French aperitif.
Bloomsbury Amer – which was originally created in collaboration with Chris Moore of London bar Coupette – combines flavours of orange and gentian root to offer a “contemporary” version of the bitter French spirit.
