Benevolent debuts mental health campaign Not Alone

Drinks industry charity The Benevolent has launched a new campaign called Not Alone, designed to break the stigma surrounding mental health and to encourage free speech on the subject.

The Benevolent is tackling mental health awareness with its new Not Alone campaign

Unveiled at The Vintners’ Company Annual Wine Trade Lunch in aid of The Benevolent last Friday (12 January), the campaign hopes to remind members of the drinks industry that The Benevolent can offer professional support to help with any mental health difficulties. The campaign can be followed online using the hashtag #NotAlone.

Furthermore, The Benevolent also launched a survey aimed at the UK drinks industry, which hopes to pinpoint current mental health issues experienced by members of the trade. More details can be found at surveys.wineintelligence.com or at thebenevolent.org.

Chris Porter, chief executive of The Benevolent, said: “Mental health issues are not restricted to class, race, gender, sexual or religious orientation – it can affect anyone at anytime in their lives and our trade is no exception. We are here to help.

“The campaign spearheads our existing work as we begin this new year, which will see The Benevolent offering an even greater level of support to those in our industry who are currently suffering real hardship and difficulty in their lives.”
