Johnnie Walker store comes to the Americas

Diageo Global Travel has opened the first luxury Johnnie Walker store in the Americas.

Johnnie Walker’s first luxury store in the Americas is based at Miami International Airport

Opened at Miami International Airport in partnership with Duty Free Americas, the store is the first of its kind in the Americas and can be found at the airport’s North terminal, concourse D.

The 1,145 square foot space features an exclusive Johnnie Walker exhibition, showcasing the latest products from the brand as well as offering shoppers special personalisation opportunities, such as custom labels and bottle engraving.

The store, designed by Miami-based design and production agency Bloommiami, also features an “elegantly designed bar”, which will offer travellers unique tasting experiences.

Dayalan Nayager, managing director, Diageo Global Travel, said: “Miami International Airport is the largest gateway between the United States and Latin America with over 21 million passengers travelling through it last year alone. This has made it a vital place for the super deluxe Scotch whisky category and therefore the ideal location for the opening of this luxury Johnnie Walker store.”

The store is designed to “educate and inspire” travellers, offering an interactive shopping experience that explores the history of the blended Scotch brand.

It will offer a limited edition bottle design, created by local Miami illustrator Ernesto Maranje. The Johnnie Walker Blue Label bottle design illustrates the brand’s journey from Scotland to Miami.

The special collector’s edition is currently on display in the store and will be available to purchase from March 2018.

As well as the Johnnie Walker range, the new store will also offer a range of Scotch whiskies from Diageo’s portfolio, such as Talisker, Oban and Lagavulin, as well as some special release malts.
