Ballantine’s unveils 21yo whisky collection

Scotch whisky producer Ballantine’s has released a collection of 21-year-old expressions exclusively in Asia travel retail.

The Ballantine’s 21 Year Old Signature Oak Collection comprises the Ballantine’s 21 Year Old European Oak and Ballantine’s 21 Year Old American Oak. The duo will be available to purchase exclusively in the Asia travel retail market until November 2018.

The European Oak blended whisky is said to offer flavours of raisin, spices, and fruitcake, while the American oak variant is said to emphasise the vanilla, toffee and honey notes of the whisky.

Sandy Hyslop, Ballantine’s master blender, said: “Each of the casks are personally nosed by me to ensure a balance between liquid and cask, something George Ballantine – a pioneer in the art of maturing whisky in quality casks – would have approved of.

“I have stayed true to his unique methods, his craftsmanship and the extraordinary level of dedication he demanded to maintain the smooth, delicately balanced style of the whisky he gave his name to.”
