Zamora acquires additional Villa Massa stake

Spain’s Zamora Company now owns 100% of limoncello brand Villa Massa after acquiring the shareholding of brothers Stefano and Sergio Massa for an undisclosed sum.

Villa Massa is now 100% owned by Zamora Company

Zamora Company has owned a 51% stake in Villa Massa since 2006 in co-ownership with the Massa brothers.

Villa Massa’s portfolio also includes orange and mandarin liqueurs, a Sorrento walnut liqueur and a limoncello cream.

Emilio Restoy, CEO of Zamora Company, commented: “This acquisition is a result of the commitment made to the Massa family to invest in the traditional brand values, maintaining the brand identity and authenticity as an IGP Liquore di Limone di Sorrento, and growing the global vision of the company.”

The Massa family has created the Villa Massa liqueur in Sorrento, Italy, since 1890. Villa Massa is now the world’s best-selling limoncello brand, with distribution in more than 50 countries.

Zamora Company, maker of Spanish liqueur brand Licor 43, has production facilities in Spain, Italy and the Dominican Republic, and has an annual turnover of €160 million.

In May last year, Villa Massa unveiled a new bottle design, featuring a taller shape, larger cap and clearer image.
