Mortlach 13yo concludes Consortium of Cards range
Douglas Laing & Co has concluded its Old Particular Consortium of Cards range with a 13-year-old Mortlach single malt, dubbed the Ace of Spades.

The expression rounds off the Consortium of Cards collection, which consists of three other bottlings: Queen of the Hebrides, an 18-year-old Laphroaig; King of the Hills, a 20-year-old Ben Nevis; and Crackerjack, a 28-year-old single cask Port Dundas.

“Our Old Particular Consortium of Cards series has allowed us to highlight and celebrate some particularly tempting casks from our family vaults throughout this year,” commented Fred Laing, managing director of whisky blender and bottler Douglas Laing & Co.
“Our decision to finish this Mortlach Malt in a PX butt has certainly paid dividends, with the resulting spirit showing incredible depth, plus a rich and indulgent character.”
Old Particular Ace of Spades will be available from this month at an estimated RRP of £78 (US$102).
This summer, Douglas Laing & Co revealed plans to expand its business with the build of a £10.7 million (US$14m) Scotch whisky distillery in Glasgow on the banks of the River Clyde.
