Macallan unveils ‘unprecedented’ single casks
The Macallan is aiming to showcase its “diversity of styles” with the launch of a seven-strong range of single cask whiskies aged between 12 and 22 years.
One expression from The Macallan’s new range
All whiskies in The Macallan’s Exceptional Single Cask Range have been bottled from Sherry casks that were filled between 1995 and 2004.
According to The Macallan, the collection offers whisky fans the chance experience its ‘whisky maker’s bench’ – where the cask make-up of its single malts are decided.
“Over years, and even centuries, an incredibly diverse range of whisky samples have graced the whisky maker’s bench,” said Charlie Whitfield, manager of brand education for The Macallan.
“This stunning new range, bottled at cask strength, presents those particular cask samples which have taken our whisky makers by surprise. The Macallan’s Exceptional Single Cask range provides an opportunity to experience these moments.”
Described as an “unprecedented range”, the collection will roll out to select international markets, starting with the US this month.
Each whisky in the range is priced between US$250 and US$1,300.
In October this year, The Macallan revealed plans to replace its long-standing 1824 range in travel retail with the new Quest Collection.
