Hermitage bottles 60-year-old Cognac

Hermitage Cognac has launched a 60-year-old expression bottled in English crystal, called Marie Louise.

Marie Louise is a 60-year-old Cognac from Grande Champagne

Priced £1,650 (US$2,160), the Cognac is a bottling from one of Grande Champagne’s “top artisan producers”. Just 50 one-litre decanters of Marie Louise will be available, featuring packaging by Cumbria Crystal.

“As soon as I tasted a sample of this Cognac, I knew it was going to be one of the finest that we have ever offered,” said David Baker, managing director of Hermitage Cognac.

“It’s like lining your mouth with velvet, with a full and refined aroma of muscat grape, nutmeg, baked apple, toast and walnut. It has a complex, glorious taste of sultanas, truffle, toffee brittle, coffee, dried fig cinnamon, clove and hazelnut all wrapped up in an intensely rich rancio, found only in the rarest of Cognacs.”

Marie Louise will be available through Corney & Barrow, Hedonism in London, via Hermitage Cognac’s retail arm, Brandy Classics.
