Brett Ratner’s whiskey dropped, report claims

Diageo has reportedly discontinued the whiskey brand it created in collaboration with Brett Ratner following allegations of sexual misconduct against the Hollywood filmmaker.

Brett Ratner’s whiskey brand has been reportedly discontinued by Diageo

In April last year, the UK drinks giant partnered with Ratner to launch The Hilhaven Lodge, a blend of Bourbon from the 2000s, Tennessee whiskey from the 1990s and rye whiskey from the 1980s.

The whiskey takes its name from Ratner’s Hilhaven Lodge in Beverly Hills, described as the “posh playground” of Hollywood’s elite.

According to recent reports, six women, including actresses Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge, have come forward to accuse Ratner of sexual harassment or assault.

The American producer, known for directing the Rush Hour film series and X Men: The Last Stand, has denied the accounts.

In a statement to the Los Angeles Times, Diageo said: “Due to the nature of these allegations, The Hilhaven Lodge Whiskey has been discontinued.”

The Spirits Business has contacted Diageo for a comment and is awaiting a response.

In February 2015, Ratner filed a lawsuit against Kentucky-based Bourbon maker Heaven Hill Distilleries over trademark rights for Hilhaven Lodge whiskey.
