Rémy Cointreau names Hériard Dubreuil as chairman

French drinks group Rémy Cointreau has appointed Marc Hériard Dubreuil to the role of chairman of the board of directors.

He succeeds Francois Hériard Dubreuil, who has been appointed vice chairman of the board of directors and member of the Audit Finance committee.

A graduate of ESSEC business school, Marc Hériard Dubreuil began his career with General Foods and Leroy Somer. He has been chairman of Rémy Martin and Rémy & Associés, then chief executive officer of Rémy Cointreau from 1990 to 2000. Previous roles include chief executive officer of Andromede, the holding company of Rémy Cointreau and Oeneo, and chairman of Oeneo SA.

Marc Hériard Dubreuil said: I thank the board of directors for their confidence. It illustrates and confirms the family’s commitment to the group’s strategy to create value and ambition to become the world leader in exceptional spirits.”

In July this year, Rémy Cointreau saw its first quarter sales rise by 9.9% to €240.2 million (US$276m), driven by strong Cognac gains in China.
