Beam Suntory appoints Tousignant as CFO

Beam Suntory has promoted Marc André Tousignant to the role of chief financial officer, taking over from John Owen.

Marc André Tousignant will become Beam Suntory’s new chief financial officer from 1 January 2018

Effective 1 January 2018, Tousignant currently serves as chief financial officer of Beam Suntory’s Americas region, which is responsible for more than half of the company’s profits.

Owen, who joined Beam Suntory in 2013, was appointed chief financial officer in May last year. He leaves the company to pursue opportunities closer to his family in New York.

In his new role, Tousignant will report to CEO Matt Shattock, join the executive leadership team, and serve as a member of on the Board of Directors.

Succeeding Tousignant will be Karim Sadik-Khan, who is currently vice president, Global Finance Planning & Analysis. Justine O’Toole, currently finance director, Global Travel Retail, has been promoted to vice president, Global Finance Planning & Analysis.

“Marc André is a thoughtful and strategic finance executive whose breadth and depth of experience will serve him well as our global CFO,” said Shattock. “We are tremendously grateful to John for his outstanding leadership and numerous contributions to our success, and we’re pleased that he will remain with us through year end to ensure a seamless transition to Marc André.”

Tousignant joined Beam Suntory in 2014 as chief financial officer, Global Supply Chain before assuming his current role in 2016.

He previously had a 23-year career at Avon, where he held finance leadership roles for multi-billion-dollar business units, including North America, WEMEA/APAC/China, and Japan.

Tousignant holds an MBA from the Université de Sherbrooke in Québec, and a BA in Finance from the Université de Québec à Montréal.
