Stormzy – real name Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Junior – was presented with the accolade by Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn at The Tate Modern.

Scottish broadcaster, XFM DJ and former journalist Gordon Smart then greeted him off-stage with a one-off blend of Copper Dog whisky distilled in 1993.

Copper Dog’s master blender, Stuart Morrison, said: “To commemorate such a special award, we’ve created a single one-off bottle of Copper Dog Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, containing spirit distilled in the year Stormzy was born.

“Those distinctive flavours of Speyside, including single malts from Inchgower, Knockando and Roseisle distilleries, have been married together to give us a very special Scotch full of flavour and character.”

The event was attended by a number of celebrities including Charli XCX, Anthony Joshua, Poppy Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn, Jack Guinness and Jack Whitehall.

Guests enjoyed pre-dinner cocktails at the Copper Dog bar, which included the Copper Highball made with plum bitters and The Big Apple containing amaretto and apple juice.

The party continued into the early hours at the Tate Modern with drinks by Copper Dog with music by DJ Jodie Harsh. Guests also received a bottle of Copper Dog whisky in each goodie bag.
