Paul Skehan has resigned from Spirits Europe to join PepsiCo
Skehan, who has worked for Brussels-based Spirits Europe since 2011, will step down from his role this Friday 22 September.
He will join multinational food, snack, and beverage corporation PepsiCo as its senior director of public policy, government affairs and communications, and will continue to be based in Brussels.
“It has been a very great honour and pleasure to work as director general of Spirits Europe,” said Skehan. “It is a wonderful sector to work in, a vibrant, growth-oriented mélange of large and small distillers, operating in markets across the world.
“It is a sector that looks to do the right things about alcohol-related harm, and takes its responsibilities seriously and diligently. It is a sector populated by experts and enthusiasts, by those who have degrees in mixology to those who know how to make a watertight barrel!”
Spirits Europe, a representative body for the spirits industry at European level comprising 31 associations and eight multinationals, has not yet announced a successor to Skehan.
