The Distilled Spirits Council is set to host the largest gathering of US distillers in the UK this month during a London-based export showcase.

On 20 and 21 September 2017, 22 small, medium and large US distillers will gather at Somerset House – the largest delegation of American distillers to visit the UK. The event will be supported by the US Department of Agriculture.

The showcase will feature an exclusive tasting of American spirits for national and local media, as well as a cocktail demonstration.

“American spirits are in demand around the world – with the UK serving as our second largest export market,” said Distilled Spirits Council senior vice president of international trade Christine LoCascio.

“We are excited to showcase in London an array of products from small, medium, and large American distillers. With some of the most iconic spirits in the world, as well as a range of innovative new products, American distillers are truly setting the bar.”

Last year, US spirits exports to the US reached US$122 million. American whiskey accounted for approximately 86% of these shipments.

Distillers participating in the event include Beam Suntory, Deaths Door Distillery, Brown-Forman, Catoctin Creek Distillery, Diageo, and more.
