Whitetail Gin from Isle of Mull launches in the UK

Family-owned Whitetail Spirits has released a new gin made with hand-foraged botanicals from the Isle of Mull, called Whitetail Gin.

Whitetail Gin is inspired by the white-tailed eagle

The expression was distilled by master distiller Charles Maxwell of Thames Distillers in London, and is made with sustainably harvested sea kelp from Lock Scridain, and Calluna heather and pine needles from Whitetail’s estate on the south-west side of the island.

The gin’s name as inspired by the island’s famous white-tailed eagle. Bottled at 47% abv, the gin is available at an RRP of £38 per 700ml bottle from the Whitetail Spirits shop on the Isle of Mull, The Good Spirits Co in Glasgow, and other independent spirits retailers throughout the UK.

Jamie Munro, director of Whitetail Spirits, said: “The majestic white-tailed eagle is the United Kingdom’s largest bird of prey and is synonymous with the Isle of Mull. Nesting close by, these legendary birds are the inspiration behind our family-owned Whitetail brand.

“Just like its namesake, Whitetail Gin is superior in strength and power and just like its namesake, is subtle and smooth – as gentle on the palate as a feather drifting down from the sky.

“The imagery and easily-associated narrative that we have been able to create through the brand has positioned us as a unique and easily understood proposition, particularly so with the on-trade.”
