SMWS creates whisky ice creams for summer

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society’s (SMWS) Kaleidoscope Bar has released a range of whisky-flavoured ice creams for summer.

The whisky ice creams are a collaboration between the SMWS and S Luca

Created by Scottish ice cream maker S Luca, the collection of 12 ‘Ice Dream Drams’ are available to purchase from the recently opened bar, which is located at 9A Devonshire Square in London.

Each is made with the SMWS’s single cask whiskies, ranging from 3.7-4.9% abv, and will be served from an ice cream trike in the outdoor courtyard at Devonshire Square.

Ice cream flavours include Banana-Dram-A, a banana and marshmallow ice cream made with a sweet, fruity and mellow whisky; Snowball Seduction, oak and vanilla whisky ice cream with chunks of coconut; Salty Sea Dog, a salted caramel ice cream with an oily and coastal whisky; and Maple Bacon Crunch, sweet syrup and smoky bacon flavours combined with peated whisky.

Michael Cook, manager at Kaleidoscope Bar, said: “At the Society we focus on the amazing array of flavours in whisky and our 12 Ice Dream Drams made by S Luca are a great way to explore the different types of flavours you find in whisky.”
