Pernod Ricard hit by cyber attack

French drinks group Pernod Ricard’s London office was subject to a cyber attack this week, but assured the incident has had no impact on business operations.

Pernod Ricard confirmed its London office suffered a cyber attack this week

Pernod Ricard, producer of spirits including The Glenlivet, Chivas Regal, Beefeater Gin and Absolut Vodka, noticed “unusual activity” at its London base yesterday (Thursday 10 August).

A spokesperson for Pernod Ricard said: “At midday on Tuesday, we discovered unusual activity and evidence of a cyber attack at Pernod Ricard London.

“This has been fully contained with no impact on business operations.”

In other news, Pernod Ricard completed its acquisition of a majority stake in Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal for an undisclosed sum earlier this month.

Furthermore, last month Pernod Ricard’s CEO Alexandre Ricard said during an interview that it was “business as usual” following completion of the firm’s €150 million (now US$167m) cost-cutting programme Project Allegro last year.

The group also appointed a new marketing director for its UK business, Philip Ainsworth, as Patrick Venning moved to the firm’s Scotch whisky team.
