MGP Ingredients has appointed Thomas Lynn as general counsel and corporate secretary

As general counsel, Lynn will look after commercial matters, litigation oversight, environmental matters, corporate compliance obligations, intellectual property and labour/employment laws, contracts and day-to-day legal matters.

As corporate secretary, he will also be responsible for counselling the board and senior management on issues relating to relevant federal and state security laws, and assuring compliance with applicable corporate government requirements and best practices in conjunction with outside counsel.

Corporate attorney Lynn has been a partner at Kansas City-based law firm Stinson Leonard Street LLP since 2008, and lead “significant” corporate finance, merger and acquisition transactions for regional and national clients.

He has also advised public companies, including MGP, on compliance with securities laws and regarding corporate government matters.

Lynn said he was “thrilled” to join MGP, and looked forward to helping the company succeed in achieving its plans for long-term growth.

Dave Rindom, vice president and chief administrative officer, said: “As a critical member of our executive leadership team, TJ [Lynn] will perform an important role in supporting MGP’s business goals and commitment to growth by providing counsel on issues of overarching importance to the company.

“His previously acquired knowledge of MGP and our business operations is a big plus, and will make for a smooth transition to his new position here.

“This role will allow us to insource some of our legal needs, improving both the efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s legal function.”
